A Fabulous Pair of Antique Rococo Style Gilt Bronze Chenets. Circa 1880's

A good pair of bronze gilt chenets.
French; circa 1880's
Flowing budding floral detailing.
Opposing; or handed; these are wonderfully proportioned.
Sourced personally in Centre-Val de Loire region of France.
Chenets, or andirons, were a staple in well-appointed homes, and were placed in front of a fireplace to protect priceless rugs and flooring from rolling logs. Only the grandest homes had chenets as beautifully designed as these.
Approx. Max Dims each: H: 465mm, W: 270mm
In excellent antique condition, no signs of damage or repair.
