Probably the most quintessentially French antique mirror you'll find; anywhere!
Sourced personally from The Centre-Val de Loire region of France; this is one of those finds that makes your heart skip a beat!
Decorative gilt wood frame, surrounding the most sublime silvered original mercury plate mirror glass.
Some of the silvering has completely disappeared, so much so you can see the original backboard beyond but what remains provides just enough 'reflection' to make it a tad mysterious; as you can make out in the photographs.
A intriguingly special, unique decorators piece.

Because of the visible backboard; aesthetically this works best hung or standing vertically.
Structurally very solid and sound. Slight losses to the stucco detailing and marks to the gold gilt. Losses to the silvering as mentioned previously and visible in the photos. All the defects of this fabulous mirror add to the patine and make it the remarkable piece that it is!
This is a genuine antique and as such may well show signs of use and wear commensurate with age.
